Introduction to Librarian AI
Librarian AI is an application that can automatically recommend similar books based on users’ preferences. Users can input up to 3 books, and Librarian AI will use artificial intelligence algorithms to provide customized reading preferences for other books that users may like.
At present, Librarian AI is still free, and users only need to access to the website to try this feature. According to the website’s prompts, a Premium version will be released in the future, which may provide more detailed contents on authors, categories, and book summaries.
Librarian AI Reading Recommendations
We tested the functionality of Librarian AI. After stepping into the website, you will see the following page:
The overall page is very concise, with a button at the top right to switch to dark mode. The website prompts that you can enter up to three books at a time, allowing the website to make intelligent recommendations.
Let’s first choose some professional books, and the books should be indexed in the website. If you input books that do not exist in the website database, you cannot select them. We input two Python related books and one machine learning book, and then wait for the results.
From the running results, the website has recommended five books related to Python data processing and machine learning, which are consistent with the similar topics in Python and machine learning. The website provides a brief introduction to each book, and clicking on each of the books will link to the specific page of Google Books.
After testing professional books, we chose some literary works. This time, three English masterpieces were input, namely Gone with the Wind, Jane Eyre, and Price and Prejudice. The recommended books on the website are as follows:
The website recommends several English classics, some of which are written by the authors of previous three books, and some of which are on similar topics.
Summary
Librarian AI, as an application for intelligent book recommendation, can meet the needs of users in testing. This intelligent book recommendation algorithm is similar to recommending products in shopping websites. It is also similar as the bookshelf in a library.
In book classification, people add some labels to each book and filter out books with similar labels. Librarian AI is equivalent to an electronic bookshelf that can be queried multiple times. The website will continue to add more detailed features in the future, and it is expected that the user experience will be better when more books are included.
